Army Navy Game Hotel fiasco

If you’ve booked a room for the game you might want to take out trip insurance
The State is cancelling reservations so they can use rooms to house migrants

Another innovation that could change football.....

I saw this article on d3football.com during my weekly look see at the scores. A couple interesting things in the article. Most notable is about a new AT&T designed 5g connected helmet which will enable coaches to communicate with the players at Gallaudet, the school for the deaf in DC. Previously they had to make eye contact with the coach to get plays via sign language. The video linked in the article explains how it is used. Also... little known fact.... a good trivia question. The Huddle was first introduced by Gallaudet in 1897. Who knew that?

Now back to Navy FB news.

Memphis tennis facility has retained William Leftwich name

was just gonna add this to the Perot /Rickover thread but I'm just gonna grab one part of it as a jumping off point. Plus this is going to be big for my property value and therefore worthy of one of my remaining START THREAD bullets, whatever that number is

for years now the Memphis tennis team has been driving several miles to a facility that has now been closed. The powers that be have come up with a plan to make massive upgrades to the City Park facility.... and it appears they will retain the Leftwich name and not be changed. If it actually makes it to grand opening and isn't named for a Memphis big $$$ donor at the last second it will be fun pointing out to locals that a Memphis varsity sport facility is named for a USNA Brigade Boxer and Viet Nam War hero

when this thread was started 2 days ago it immediately took me back to my second class year when we had Perot and Rickover for Forrestal Lectures. Was gonna post this but I jacked it enough with the Leftwich side story. (speaking of that I have run my dog past the office to the tennis center at least one thousand times and have never had a reason to stick my head in there. Yesterday I popped in hoping to find an old timer working the desk that could tell me exactly when the City of Memphis Parks Commission named it for Leftwich '53. He was killed in November 1970 and I could not find anything on line about it. Of course the young girl working the counter had never heard of Perot … the Viet Nam War …. Lt Col Leftwich --- hadn't even read the very nice memorial plaque out front ) --- but I digress

MEMPHIS

6 day forecasts are nothing to bet the ranch on but the long range says 77F. This will almost certainly be our last game at Memphis as they have publicly stated they will bribe whomever or murder whomever or provide sexual favors for whomever it is necessary to get out of this crappy league.

So get your butts here.. I also think it might be the most important conference game of the year for us.

TOPS BBQ . FOUR WAY. On me. BEER SPONSOR via a former player hook up.

Be there or be square.

Wagner

Don't want to steal Mike's preview thunder, but I'm getting antsy for this game to happen.

Coach Chesnut mentioned that Wagner runs a 3-3 stack defense. The stack allows them to cause confusion on what defender will cover which gap. For traditional veer, I'd expect to see us in a lot of unbalanced formations to get them to "break" the stack and bring down a S/LB to cover the extra OL/TE (which essentially forces them to declare gap responsibilities). I think the same principle applies to the zone stuff, although maybe not as critical. In any case, it probably helps us that we can throw tight ends out there now to further limit how Wagner can react to the unbalanced look. Another way to attack the stack when they put an extra defender on the LOS is to throw bubble screens. So maybe we'll see that short passing game get going, although I doubt we'll need it.
