Preble Hall

I apologize if everyone knows about this already, but if you’re a history lover like me, the excellent staff at the USNA Museum have a podcast with tons of episodes that cover a lot of ground. I stumbled upon it and am now obsessed and felt obligated to share:

Preble Hall

Army-Navy relevance is that one of the best guests on the pod is a one time USNA history professor, now museum curator and legitimate expert in all things naval history…and a USMA grad

Bowl game possible??

In the event that Navy defeats Army and finishes 5-7, is a bowl game possible? There are rumors out there that a few teams have lost several players to the portal and possibly unable to properly field a team. North Carolina for instance lost 11 players so far. Both Army and Navy could be an emergency replacement since both teams have been practicing and neither will be hit by the portal or players opting out of bowl games for NFL and other reasons. Thoughts??

Rugby 2022

Our inaugural Varsity year is off to a great start. The Guys and undefeated and the Ladies have suffered just one loss.
The Guys will travel to Glendale, Co (just outside Denver) to face Air Force on Friday night at Infinity Park in Glendale, Co.
Is anyone planning to go to this match?

D3 points of interest......

From my weekly peek at d3football.com ..... The D3 NCAA championship game, the Stagg Bowl, is scheduled for Dec 16 at NMCMS in Annapolis.

Lots of decent teams in this year's D3 playoffs. two of them Ithaca and Cortland State, both undefeated, drew 40 K + in Yankee Stadium last Saturday. Ithaca won.

Notable USNA alum, Jim Kubiak, '95, is coaching a new D3 program at tiny Hilbert College in upstate NY. He holds Navy's career passing record... over 6000 yds. He toiled under George Chaump, one of the Navy coaches mentioned in an earlier thread. He was the C in the T-U-C-W group of four who took us through two decades of football futility.

AAC Scheduling model

14 game model is in, and it is good. Navy-Temple is an annual matchup, everyone else rotates through

How do the new (this year) cut blocking restrictions affect Triple Option teams

I read the article (I think in the CrabWrapper) about the new cut blocking restrictions - no cut blocking out side the tackle box & backs in motion cannot cut block anywhere - backs must be stationary and it's affect on the Triple. I'm wondering if these rules have rendered the TO ineffective. I notice that the 3 Service Academies are running far less TO than I've ever seen.
