Sorry for long paste-in but there’s not a word about this in the USNA website that Navysports directs people to. So only those who received this via email are likely to know.

For those of you that have been keeping up with our Women's team....we have quietly played our way into the D1 National Championship Match next Sundayin Charlotte, NC.
Last weekend up at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY they faced Davenport on Saturday who made it to the final last year. The weather was perfect and we were up 19-15 at half. Audrey Hollis whom has played almost every minute up to that point in the season at center broke her collarbone in that first half and handled it like a complete champion. The second half we controlled possession and prevailed 45-22.
Sunday's match had us in temperatures below 40 degrees and intermittent rain against a UCONN team that scores about 50 points on everyone they play. They won their first game agains Pitt on Saturday 67-5. We were up 10-5 at half; I considered their one score a gift from the referee. At half time, there was as much discussion about strategy as there was about frozen toes. We controlled possession once again in the second half and scored and converted. UCONN got another gift with about a minute to play and the final was 17-10.
In the final we will face the Air Force Academy. They have run through everyone they have faced like a hot knife through butter. They average 83 points a game. They have not been in a competitive match yet. This Air Force team is going to have to tackle more in the first half of our match than they have in any full match this season! They have not seen anything like Navy Rugby!
Thank you for all the support this season! BEAT AIR FORCE!

Coach Murph

Navy will play Air Force in the USA Rugby Fall Women’s D1 Collegiate Championship final at 0900 on Sunday, 8DEC2019 in Charlotte, NC at the Matthews Sportsplex Stadium
