Sadly, I report that Mr. Tom Teshara has died.
In 1973, Mr. Teshara and his wife, Jeannine, were instrumental in forming the first Parents' Club, now known as the USNA Parents' Club of Northern California. At the time, Tom was the West Coast Regional Director of the Blue and Gold Program at USNA.
The Tesharas were regulars at the American Bull in Burlingame, CA. watching all Navy football games. For their 60th wedding anniversary, the fans gave Tom a Navy football jersey with the number 60 on it. He wore it. Whenever it seemed to us that the team was struggling we would yell, "Put in Number 60!" And Jeannine would beam.
Tom named me an honorary lifetime member of the Club (the only one) and named me sports liaison.
The Tesharas were unable to attend the Navy Women's Soccer games last week. But, the team signed a card thanking them for all they had done for the Mids and USNA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on 16 September at 12:20 at St Veronica's in South San Francisco.
I am traveling. As I receive information, I will post it here.
Go Navy!
